Is it true I am told UPS pays your Insurance premiums
the employee just pays a small yearly fee ?

Currently the company pays into a fund that covers your insurance premiums and you local union health and welfare fund will be able to tell you what your co-pays are. Talk with your shop steward, he/she can give you the best advise/info on your benefits in your area. You can also contact your local unions helath and welfare fund. If you are not a Teamster, check with your supervisor/management group.

Had you passed your probationary period and attained seniority as a part-time employee (here in Chicago-Teamsters Local 705), after 1 year you would be enrolled in the UPS National Health Plan for Part-Time Employees. No premium/annual fee for medical/dental/vision/prescription. There are copays and out-of-network/prescription formulary charges if applicable.

Make any progress on reapplying to UPS? I wish you good luck, but honestly it sounds like you're blackballed-'no rehire' status.
