People talk about "competing across state lines". What does that mean? My health insurance is based inTexas. I live in Illinois. Don't they therefore compete across state lines?

Each state has it's own rules and regs. If I could get insurance in State A like they have in State B then insurers would get alot more competitive.

What the government is trying to do is drive everyone to a one payor system which will never be in your best interest ....ever!.
You already have single payer system as in medicare.
Someone should have the guts to get rid of that.
Elderly with pensions can pay, and those without - well ER for them.

Well, my question wasn't answered !
Do you want to save your single tax payer system (medicare), or get rid of it ?

It's "Communistical", and FOX News says we need to get rid of it because it's Un-American. Uh...wait. Oh, so Medicare isn't "Communistical" because you like it? I guess they'll just stay hypocrites.

Let's just look at the latest Boston Marothon Bombing.
One person (no matter of colour, race, insurance, etc) had a leg blown off.
Now, an insured person got away with a broken leg instead.
Who do you think got treated first ?
The uninsured with the leg blown off, of course !

My point is, if you see someone way off worse than yourself, why not him/her go first ?
That's how Canada's heathcare system works, and I believe in that ! (I'll wait) !

Canada is all part of the Socialist Plot. Don't you know you have to wait 3 years in Canada to be seen for a sore throat, and up to 5 years for heart surgery? You should hear all of the illusory BS thrown out by the GOP and insurance companies about the horrible hardships of the Canadian Healthcare system. If you were to believe them, a RMCP Mounty gives you a shot of whiskey and a bullet to clamp your teeth on while they amputate whatever the problem body part happens to be.

Is Granny in a circus?

The point is that Granny is a pawn, and that your GOP buddies would rather drop her off a cliff than offend their best friends, the insurance industry. By the way, the insurance industry is incredibly profitable. Think that just might have a wee bit to do with them fighting any changes to an extremely lucrative business model?

Paul Ryan can even crack granny over the head with his $1000 bottles of wine and then pee on her for all the GOP cares, surprised their "repeal and replace" plan isn't faith healing or rattlesnake handling!!!

Let them beleive that, I don't care !
I'm not fulltime employed, yet I recieved 2 Ultra sounds ( 1 for the heart, 1 for the tummy), x-rays, a Cat-scan, some other scan I cxan't remember & multilpy blood works, plus all the GP and Specialists visits, all in 1 month !
I was so booked out, I couldn't work if I wanted to, besides weekends ! (which I actually did).

I'm already booked for another colonoscopy for neat year, since they did find some polyps.
Got to love single payer system !
I pay it thru GST and provincial taxes, like everyone else. And , I mean EVERYONE !
