Not that some of his points aren't valid, the last administration had it's crooks and liars too. Maybe the problem isn't totally the people but the very institution itself and the type of people it attracts to run it.
But more important, those of you who rush every 4 years to elect the next American Beauty need to step back and really begin to ask yourself just what it is a gov't should and should not do and realize the 2 false choices you are given every 4 years may well run contrary to what you think gov't should and should not be regardless of the political isle you prefer.
At some point, our ancestors found it necessary to cast off the status quo and step up with courage to tell a King "No More!" If you are locked into the ballot box approach to correcting State institutions, like our ancestors you may have to summon the courage to tell the 2 wings of the same bird of prey, "No More" and take your vote elsewhere. 5 drops of poison in your water as opposed to 10 is no real choice other than the death you fear will just take a little longer to arrive. Like Neo, you know what's at the end of that road so why not go in a different direction? Consider yourself already dead so to speak and it just becomes so damn easy!

"Said Captain obvious." Clearly the two party system is broken. It will continue to sway back and forth, one side bitching about the other whether there's success or failure, it won't matter for the furtherance on ones own political career. Until there are term limits on Capital Hill, the lobbyists will rule this land as well as the career politician, period.

A politician is a prostitute by the very nature of his job. From both parties. But dwelling on past administrations (ALL had problems) doesn't address the current problems. We can't change the past but we can affect the future, so current events are what people should focus on.
