China is trying to set a casual precedent for violating US airspace, to be used in Taiwan. Then when America eventually puts a stop to it, they can freak out about what a "gross overreaction" it was... These rules of engagement are really important in Asia, like saving face is in any embarrassing situation.

It's kind of disconcerting that they can play the Pentagon like this, and the US officials seem oblivious.
