He was stealing stuff, and it wasn't alcohol or tobacco.....

was preload shop steward many moons ago, was summond into managers office mid shift to be confronted with 2 police officers, 5 employees and 3 management ream members.
withoutout a single word spoken the lights were turned off and a black light was turned on, all 5 employees started to glow in the lower shirt and upper pants area and hands were btight pink
ups was dusting pkgs with illuminating powder and sending them thru the system, employees were stuffing item in their pants
Turned out was cosmetic jewelery and cd's, nothing over 10 dollars

anybody ever heard of "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law"?

"proven" is a rather subjective word. In a real court that would mean proof beyond a reasonable doubt... But to a UPS supervisor, it could just mean a rumor you heard from your brother's ex-girlfriend's Mother inlaw.

I've seen many mgt and hourlies removed in handcuffs over the years. Mostly it was for a show, but it never seems to work. As long as the opportunity is available human nature will always triumph over common sense.
