Passing out candy or old Unfair Production Standards stickers?
None that are hourly union members, it's a paid day off
Used to always have a brand new package car in the parade. Driven by management but that was O Kay as it was for PR value only. Ended after the strike.
People have parades for labor day?
The local unions have one in our city every year to promote labor union activism.
No one else does?
She better not be in labor!
We have one too. I dont go.
Who wants to be around a bunch of drunken TEAMSTERS?
There is no labor day parade, so the answer would be none.
Normally we have a feeder and a package car driven by a Teamster on his paid day off. We also have an opportunity to drive one of the custom package cars that are dropped and lowered during a custom/ old vehicle cruise this weekend.
I've never even heard of this concept.
My cities parade route is two blocks from my house so of course we go. Seems to get smaller every year.
I quit going to parades when the ratio of politicians to floats exploded. The last parade I attended some Einstein parade organizer had put the local mounted police auxiliary patrol (about 20 horses in all) just ahead of the high school marching band. That was one of the funniest things I ever saw---watching those kids sidestep all the road apples.
We have one that a neighboring local helps organize about an hour and a half away. I went a few years ago, they typically borrow trucks from ABF/YRC and the local has their own custom truck.
I have never seen one, or heard of one. I work out of a fairly large city.
It's an annual event here. We asked for two P12s and they'll shine then up Friday night on the reload.
Maybe we can pass out anti-RTW literature with candy.
Local 728 always marches in the Atlanta Parade carrying large banners, I'm not aware if UPS allows use any vehicles though.
I go camping Labor Day weekend.
