How much do the yard shifters make?

I think it varies by location. Some are part of the feeder dept some are pt some are ft

It's in the contract. If you're feeder department it's the going feeder wage and top scale is 33 an hour. If you're a "shifter" it's different about 25 an hour. This is of course give or take around a dollar depending on your location. In my supplement in Aug 07 shifters were at 19.73. Then with the GWI's it's around...25.50 or so an hour. Check your supplement.

Shifters are part of the feeder division in 705. It is a bid job and pays feeder pay. We have some 22.3 shifters at certain times of the day. While they are in the yard they make feeder pay.

Our shifters here are paid at the Package driver rate and have the normal friend/T progression. They have been "red-circled" and all new shifters are coming from the Feeder Driver ranks & will be paid at the Feeder rate which is $.68 or so more.

In Texas Part time shifters make .25 over the general wage. Unless a 22.3 combo most shifters here part timers.
