It sure took a leap after he got elected!! So no, not shutting up about unemployment.....because it's important.

The unemployment number is not a good topic for Obama's re-election, so now it's downplayed and it's not important.

Strength through joy
Give him four more years and he's sure to drop those numbers down as low as 1%.
Of course that would have to mean that 99% of those currently employed will be out of work & have given up all hope of ever finding another job.

You say unemployment LEAPED under OBAMA??? Well, i am curious what you call the increase in BUSH's unemployment record? BALLISTIC? HYPERBALLISTIC? You cant get any worse than going from a flat 4% to 7.8%... thats a 3.8% increase moreluck..

Now, hopefully you are bright enough to know that the BUSH unemployment legacy continued into 2009 until the stimulus programs were passed, and unemployment hit 10%. Thats an increase of 2.2% and you call that a leap comparing that to BUSH's 3.8% increase?

If the unemployment calculation is wrong during the obama administration, and its the same calculation used during the bush and every other presidents administration, wouldnt BUSH's numbers be alot worse also?

Or, like fox news, are you suppose to ignore that little fact?

The country is healing, given all that happened to it. Its still recovering. You just have to understand the scope of the damage caused by BUSH and the republicans.

The biggest 8 years of failure came during the BUSH administration and its going to take years to FIX IT!

Acceptance of this fact will make it easier to understand.

Peace

I think you missed my point------

After doing just a quick check on HP I learned that the previous CEO Leo Apotheker served only 11 months as CEO but walked away with (are you ready for this):

4 million dollar signing bonus
4.6 million dollar relocation assistance perk
1.6 million dollar yearly salary
7 million dollar severance pay
11 million dollars in stock.

Not bad for an 11 month job. Me thinks HP is trimming the budget at the wrong end like all big companies seem to do.

I got your point, and I do not sympathize with your outrage. Remember this is the leader of one of the world's largest tech companies whose job is to manage a behemoth of a company with a long history and a reputation of producing products people generally want. When you did your research into this CEO's pay did you also conduct a market pay study to see if this pay was below or above average for his position? Apple signed a $378 million contract for its CEO making Leo's pay seem like peanuts despite the fact that they work in the same business sector.

To put this another way if you fired Mr. Apotheker and spread his salary and bonuses among all the 27000 people laid off they would get $1044.44. That is probably not even a months pay for most of them. Better yet if you took this man's 11 month pay package and spread it out among every employee at HP each of their 337500 employees would receive $83.55. Hardly something that would make much of an impact on any of their lives, but now you have eliminated an integral part of the leadership at this tech giant. These job cuts will save HP somewhere between $3 billion and $3.5 billion per year allowing the company to invest in other areas of its business and atleast maintain the remaining 310500 jobs that still exist within the company. BTW, Mr. Apotheker's pay is about .94% of that $3 billion figure and .8% if the company can save the $3.5 billion, and that is money saved per year. Before you become outraged about some CEO's pay you should probably look at the bigger picture and ask "What is this man bringing to the table and how much wealth is his leadership adding to this company compared to his or her pay? You can't just put any joe schmoe into his kind of position and expect things to work out. It takes a person with a certain skill set and experience to keep a company like HP moving along. Its akin to the quarterback position on an NFL team, not just anyone can do it.

And this is why running a government is not like running a business and why Romney should lose.

You know, it really doesn't matter if you are managing a personal, business, or government budget as the mathematics work the same. 2 + 2 always equals 4 no matter whose money is being managed. If you personally spend more than you make eventually you the math will come back to haunt you in a very serious way. Same goes for a business or government if you spend more than you have coming in its only a matter of time before everything comes crashing down around you. Sometimes that period of time is shorter or longer depending on the numbers presented. Now I am rather confident that Mitt Romney gets this, but not 100% confident. I am 100% confident Barack Obama does not get this or he simply doesn't care. Based on these facts alone it is obvious Obama is the one that needs to lose or our country will lose. I don't care if the republicans put up an empty beer can for President it can't be worse leadership than we have now.
