yea exactly, corporations are totally hierarchical, an economic tyranny.

this website and UPS is a prime example of the stories you hear about how worker are treated poorly. this is what happens when you allow your economy to be run by a small minority of bosses and executives instead of having popular rule by the workers.

workers would be less likely to vote to treat themselves badly.

but whether or not the victims on this website realize capitalism is the problem is another question. alot of people i talk to get it, they realize they are essentially making some capitalist rich and the economy is not that good.
I have a fraction of what my parents did, but I have a house on the beach, a cabin in the mountains, 3 rentals in Vegas, 3 cars, 2 moorage slips, 2 boats (19' and 32' foot).

I get income from all 5 properties, and the 2 moorage slips. What am I missing?

Somebody once said that in looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence, and energy. And if you don’t have the first, the other two will kill you. You think about it; it’s true. If you hire somebody without [integrity], you really want them to be dumb and lazy.

way to go. my parents are similarly wealthy mostly because of a massive housing bubble, but im not really impressed with that. i dont think i will be able to manage / rent properties like my dad, but i dont want to do that anyways. ill take yodas cave over vaders technological terror any day.

but thats only one kind of wealth. another kind would be how do you make the world a better place in terms of justice / how to you treat other people and animals?

“The great Roman historians Livy and Plutarch blamed the decline of the Roman Empire on the creditor class being predatory, and the latifundia,” Hudson said. “The creditors took all the money, and would just buy more and more land, displacing the other people. The result in Rome was a dark age, and that can last a very long time. The dark age is what happens when the rentiers take over.”

“If you look back in the 1930s, Leon Trotsky said that fascism was the inability of the socialist parties to come forth with an alternative,” Hudson said. “If the socialist parties and media don’t come forth with an alternative to this neofeudalism, you’re going to have a rollback to feudalism. But instead of the military taking over the land, as occurred with the Norman Conquest, you take over the land financially. Finance has become the new mode of warfare.” - michael hudson.

"Arlie Russell Hochschild: ...Another was this man that had no vacation to speak of, and the last place of work he had - so the first five years he had one week off an entire year, sick leave and vacation combined. In the next five years, he had two weeks off, so if he got a cold in that second five years, he only had one week the entire year. He said, “I haven’t had a month off since I was in college.” Now, he is retired. So that’s an entire life..."

this is from the ralph nader radio hour episode 141. in america, there is no law guaranteeing vacation time; the government does not plan it, so its left to the market. so the free market in america delivers less vacation time than all the other developed countires who have laws for such things.

the vacation time in america courtesy of the market would be criminal in every EU country. the graph below is in working days.

ralph nader:
Thirty million workers today are making less in inflation- adjusted dollars than workers made in 1968, even though worker productivity is doubled."

that explains a lot . spoiled rich kid who has had everything handed to him. Now out of touch with reality , unable to grasp the concept of hard work achieves success even though his parents gave him a great example. now rejecting their teachings and bad mouthing the lifestyle they provided him. typical.

StatsCan study say wages, full-time work sliding for young Canadians. Upside: the nation's basements have a very high occupancy rate.

i was listening to richard wolff's monthly economic update. he was commenting on how swedish company IKEA is now providing its workers with 18 weeks maternity leave in america by volition of the free market. he then commented how swedish workers have 68 weeks maternity leave which is planned by government law and its been that way for a long time.

he then mentioned that in the free market in america, 30 of the 60 biggest US corporations provide no maternity leave for their workers and the rest provide just a fraction of what pretty much every other developed country plans by law. he also mentioned something about american workers being male or poor or i forget what the other thing was which will decrease whatever minuscule maternity leave they receive.
