2 drivers on my center have been terminated in the last 18 months for getting a second DWI. They both got a second chance....and they both blew it. Both of them did some time in jail, and will be without a drivers license for at least 5 more years. One guy was a 24 year driver. One more year, and he would have been eligible for PEER 80 once he was old enough to qualify. Now, he will have to wait until he is 62 years old to collect on his pension and it will be less than half of what he would have gotten had he finished out his career at UPS and retired on PEER 80 at the age of 54. That last DWI will wind up costing this driver almost $750,000 in lost wages and pension over the course of his remaining lifetime. The last time I heard, this guy was riding around on a 10-speed bike and working some crap job at a restaraunt. I am a recovering alcoholic with over 12 yrs sober. By the grace of God I did not ever get a DWI....but I attend meetings with people who have done prison time for multiple DWI's. One guy I know killed someone while driving drunk, he did 5 yrs in the joint and he will have to live with what he did for the rest of his life. You have an opportunity here to choose a different path with a better ending. You are lucky. Please take advantage of your good luck by learning a lesson.
