I Heard a Upser on the radio

I listen to Neal Boortz in the morning.. On friday i heard A ups driver call in, ONE OF HE COMMENTS WAS that he was worried about Obama winning and raising taxes on small biz and hurting ups. Alot of small businesses ship and recieve from ups. I'd hate to see more drivers laid off and i'd hate to see my income taxes go up so i agree with the caller on voting for Mccain. Obama and the dems already said the will let the Bush tax cuts expire so our income tax will go up.

I favor the fair tax , you know get to keep your whole Paycheck and recieve a goverment rebate check every month, no more death tax, or capital gains tax. Obama likes the unfair tax plan..spread the wealth around.

if obama wins i'll be kissing our payraise goodbye.

Funny you should mention the Fair Tax. Congressman John Linder, who along with Neal Boortz, wrote a book on the Fair Tax visited our hub last week. He got a huge amount of applause from the drivers when the Fair Tax was mentioned. I'd love to see it get passed at least to try it out and see how it goes but there is alot of resistance that might be too hard to overcome.

Do some research and decide for yourself. It`s amazing how with anything else in life people go with what they want or works for them. Try and choose a President and it`s all "I heard" or "I saw this on you-tube"

I'm definitly for the Fair Tax...Other reasons besides above mentioned..Everybody who consumes in this country pays taxes.That means our immagrants are helping pay for our economy..How great is that......And the Fair Tax really helps the poor.They don't pay period....Senators are slow to jump on this because it eliminates special interest groups in Washington...Whichever party goes with the Fair Tax would strongly influence my vote.....It would increase the GNP and elinate social security which is a wrecK....So, whichever candidate your for, I don't care, keep an open mind on the Fair Tax!!

Hey Slow what pay raises are you talking about that you will be kissing goodbye? We just ratified a contract until 2013 with are pay raises guaranteed.

I think that he meant the higher taxes would negate the pay raise, bd. I carry a camera for just such an event.

Yes, Steve is right the higher taxes would negate the pay raise. Just like the $1000 tax cut for 95% of Americans is a ponzi scam.

I too would like to see a flat tax, fair tax, consumption tax (whichever you want to call it) as it would definitely level the playing field for everyone. No one would be able to work under the table anymore. Basically everyone who consumes would be paying taxes, people and corporations alike. The more you spend, the more taxes you pay. Not to mention, getting rid of thousands of pages of ridiculous and complicated US Tax Code. I just wish the concept would get more attention so that it could actually get somewhere.
