I know that you meant that in jest but if they ever combined all of those versions they would really give us a run for our money IMO.

funny thing, i see a fed ex driver almost every day on my route, we usually take break at the same place and time....errr, well, i'm taking a break, he's on his two hour non-paid-sit-and-wait time. He's asked me a hundred times if ups is hiring.
That's the newest scam...take a split-shift if you are not making SPH goals. One of my managers used the example of someone who works at another FedEx station who puts in 13 hrs a day and gets paid for 8. He comes in early to do FO, then goes on a 3-hr break. In the early afternoon he goes on another 2 hr split and then works the reload. Our response was "why would anyone agree to this?" The manager really didn't have anything to say, but it's clear that the maroon he's referring to is an "ideal employee" who is willing to take it *********over and over again.

By the time they got the whole thing coordinated, worked out the bugs and started to make a profit, we'd all be long gone.
If Fred S could get rid of FedEx Express employees and use only contractors, he could cut deep into UPS's business.
UPS is losing plenty of business to FedEx Ground based on price alone.
The only reason UPS has not switched to the "contractor business model" is because of the Teamsters.

Riiiiight. You have any info to backup those ridiculous claims? In my area we are definitely not losing "plenty of business" to RPS. They are fighting over stops here. I'm actually surprised at how much business has stuck with UPS during the recession. I guess only those businesses that were really struggling to make ends meet were switching to RPS. The rest aren't willing to sacrifice superior service for second rate service. The savings aren't enough to warrant such a move. You get what you pay for. In fact, I've seen new accounts open up that switched to UPS for that very reason.
FedEx Ground is gaining market share in my neck of the woods. I agree that you get what you pay for. In this economy people are looking to cut costs any way they can.

UPS has been out to these accounts several times. FedEx kept coming back with a lower price. The BD person told me that they can not go any lower.
For customers that care about price more than service, I am sorry to say that FedEx ground has got us beat. Since the FedEx ground driver pays for nearly everything, they (the company)have very little expenses.
I have also had accounts leave because of price and come back because of service (or lack of).

Just this last year he got rid of our very bad retirment plan and gave us a reely good one called the ppp. Sum peeple with bad attitoods did not like it one bit, but you know what? i say the heck with them becasue they should thank god they have a job in this reely bad economy. Fred loves us a lot and he wants to keep those bad union thugs out becasue all they want is our money!!! Broke, just because you vote union does not mean you will see over night results. To gain on wages and benies you will need 2 and 3 year contracts and keep your retirement separate from other Teamster retirements. Long contracts only benefit the company and new money into old pension funds only prop-up longterm and bad decisions.
I didn't say anything about overnight results. I'm just ready to get the ball rolling. We have to start somewhere. Right?

i'm here mr dumas.my boss told me today all aaabout the ups baleout bill.he told me i will be out of a job soon cause fedex cant pay us more money.i told him that they can cut my pay if i can stay and he told me too rite my senater and tell him not to baleout ups and that fedex workers dont want more money.well i say anybody that messes with fred messes with me and they dont want to mess with me so those evil democrats that want me to make more money need to leave me and fred and this wonderfull company alone.i nowe that fred does everything for the betterment of the conpany and god bless him.i know if he cuts my pay and bennyfits and outsources all of hour work to ground hes doing it for me.i love fedex and its a psp company and i would reccomend all my friends to work for fred to.
