If Obamacare doesn't make it.

Good and bad. Ups will go from hating Obama to praise in him in the name of The Lord can I get an Amen. In the end it will be good for us all because in case we ever actually go on strike we would continue to receive our medical with the huge reserves in the fund provided it stays how it is with 19 months of funding. With more in the fund there's no reason it won't continue.

If Obama care doesn't make it? It isn't designed to work. It's purpose is failure. Only then, can it be replaced by government run healthcare, the holy grail of Socialist Democrats.

As for now, business will react to the skyrocketing prices of Obamacare as they are doing now, cutting workforce, making employees carry more of the burden, raising prices, and cutting benefits. We can see this all starting already. The only thing we may have to worry about is the Cadillac tax kicking in as Obamacare cost inflation pushes us over the threshold.

Businesses have been looking for a road out of providing health insurance for decades. Right now would be a good time for Republicans to stop trying to repeal it if they want to keep corporate funding coming in.

Never even considered that. Back in 1997, my local told the members they would pick up the tab for COBRA payments if it came down to it. That move could potentially bankrupt a smaller local without a strike fund.

.

This is what I have been saying. Most don't follow my belief. I will take it one step further. Hoffa is playing a part in it too. This is why he wants Union healthcare. Unions would love nothing more then to have a government plan. No more negotiating about healthcare.

Additionally, some of those healthcare dollars could be re-diverted to pensions and/or wages.

Universal healthcare is part of the reason why the Japanese auto industry absolutely shellacked their American counterparts in the late 1990's and early 2000's; the Japanese companies didn't have to make healthcare contributions on behalf of their workforce.

Like it or not, It already made it and well have to be repealed by congress. I'm not sure of your question. As they both are already bad for us rank and filers.

The only problem is this government plan will kill unions.

The point of the ACA isn't to make the teamsters healthcare cheaper, it's to make the poor and the folk who pay astronomical costs for their healthcare to come down. While it's noble in its idea, it falls short of noble in its practice. I actually wouldn't mind a single payer system so long as it covers children, catastrophic coverages and prescriptions only. A standard doctors visit costs less than $150. I think most 'Muricans can save the $150 for their once a year visits.

Yes, and a much bigger part of the reason was pensions and union wages in the U.S. You must be young, because it started in the late '70s not the late '90s.

This contract will most likely be settled and signed long before we know the affects of Obamacare.

It's the next contract that will be affected.
