how is it with the teamsters (alegedly a union that looks out after the interests of its members) is throwing its weight behind a candidate that was asked a question by a plumber on his tax proposal.

here is a plumber, most likely a union member, making a fairly good living and union wages, asked

    to which the candidate replied

so obama wants to make sure that every one who is behind you that they have a chance of success too?

funny that. at ups, the part time ranks are the ones who are behind the drivers. under is plan, he wants to take money away from those that are in the forefront, and spread the wealth around.

but yet it is that same teamsters union that wants to have everybody support obama, that agreed to keep part time wages where they have been for the past few contracts, not even keeping ahead of the practical minimum wage.

    i dont get it.

I look at Obamas success every day and think the same thing!

The Teamsters have a history of supporting candidates who later stab them in the heart. (Think Bill Clinton and NAFTA).

    Socialism FTW!!

Give more to the lower class that do very little for society, by taxing the :censored2::censored2::censored2::censored2: out of the higher class that contribute the most, and soon everyone will be equally poor. We'll all be living off of Government handouts.

A liberal Government will eat it up too, cause they'll be in control. Isn't that the liberal agenda, to control everything?

I already hate our local union so them pushing Obama in my face doesn't help at all.

Socialism at it's best. Nancy Pelosi and her band of elitist idiots want to tax us at a higher rate to pay for the less fortunate ILLEGAL immigrants. Give me an F-ing break. Screw the ILLEGALS. They are breaking our laws. The Liberal party wants to put everyone at a level playing field by sucking the hard working, well paid, dry.
There is no PRO working man party anymore. I am sick and tired of this union using our dues to promote ANY political candidate. Put the damn wall up and stop friggin illegal immigration. Screw the wild life on the boarder. They will survive.

I wonder if the McCain camp is ever going to put out an ad about Obama letting the Bush tax cuts expire. That is going to raise taxes all over the place.
  10. see I haven't been paying as much attention to the election as I should, I will try harder now (better late than never). That is utter garbage, what a person makes should be their own. Not overly taxed so someone less fortunate can make money. UPS drivers make a good living but they EARN it. Does he honestly think this is going to work? Socialism is not what people in this country fought and died for.

Hell I donate the money I want to "Share" to charities, shelters, food banks and such. Who is the government to decide where my generosity goes by just taking it? I'm sorry but after that comment I'm convinced neither of these guys should be president. McCain is old and could possibly die in office and I sure as hell don't want Palin running ANYTHING if that happens. No its not because she's a woman, its because I don't think she has any idea on how to run this country except right into the ground. That aside McCain is a flipflopper...doesn't really take a solid stand on anything.

I'm 26, this stuff is started to really matter to me in the last election and I can't believe we haven't had any decent candidates in the past 8 years for either party. Its been the lesser of two evils for as long as I've been voting...that is a sad commentary on the potential leaders in office of this great nation.

The plumber was actually the plumbing company owner. Probably not a union member.

The plumbing company is more than likely a smaller operation with 5 or less employees. All of which very well could be union members, even the owner(depending on what state). The problem is when the owners taxes go up dramatically so the "wealth can be shared", the business could very well go bankrupt and then 5 people would be out of jobs.

It's really lovely how you are all so concerned about the wealthy.
Believe me when I say they don't give a rat'sazz about you.

Lower taxes for All UPS teamsters under Obama's plan
Higher taxes for the Hedge fund Managers. that's a fact

Dannyboy, if you make more than $2 million a year income,
then vote for McCain but please don't misrepresent Obama's tax plan.

i own a small business. last year we had an income of 265 grand or so. not too shabby, but the profit margin is not there. with the new proposed taxes on me and my business (on the gross, not net) i would have to cut 2 of the 5 jobs i have created. maybe as many as 4. it just wouldnt pay me to even stay in business.

that is the upshot of the plan to redistribute the wealth. run me out of business, and have 2-5 people our of work with no insurance or any other bennies.

with those 5 employees, there are spouses, a total of 12 kids. so my going under will affect 22 people directly. all negatively. and with the job market around here, not much to chose from.

there is one more thing i find interesting.

we have a congress that held hearings a while back on the abuse and use of steriods by professional atheletes. spent weeks on hearings, all paid for by us. and for what end? what business is it of our gooberment to investigate wrong doing like that.

but here and now, instead of investigating what the hell happened and why with our economy, and who impacted and contributed to the collapse, we are asked instead to bail out said criminals and blindly trust the vermin in charge of our futures. 700 billion, and after all the additions, over a trillion in spending, without batting an eye. from the house to the senate to the whitehouse.

i believe hearings are in order to get to the bottm of what has really happened and why, and who to go after, and who's assets to freeze, and then to figure out the actual best way to right the ship. otherwise its a knee jerk reaction to a short term fix with long term problems.

our gooberment in charge of more things in our lives is not the answer.

how did i misrepresent anything. those are his words, not mine. and its 250 grand and up, not 2 million.

please come back to earth, quit smokin what ever it is that keeps you from reality.

Ok...let's just say it's true that I will have lower taxes (which I won't after the Bush tax credits are allowed to expire). I do not emloy anyone. I don't do nearly as much to grow the economy as someone that earns over $300,000 a year. The people that will be hurt the most initially under Obama's plan will be the extremely weathy Americans who just happen to be business owners who employ the likes of you and me. Hit them hard in the pocketbook and they will be forced to scale back their businesses to keep them afloat and watch unemployment numbers rise even higher and watch the economy go further down the tubes. THEN it will affect you and me as many of us will not have jobs to go to and the cost of goods will be so high that even if we had any money, we couldn't afford it. Don't worry though. Obama's got a plan for that too. We can all go on welfare and suck on the government's teat for the rest of our lives. Oh yeah, they can also dictate every part of our lives as well and we will let them because we depend on them to provide us the basic necessities of life. Don't even get me started on health care. Enjoy our UPS Health plan? Gone! It will be replaced by a government controlled health care system. How bad will it be? Been to a government run organization before such as the Department of Motor Vehicles? That is what it will be like visiting a doctor every time. You will get in line and the doctor will see you when they are able. The government will decide if you need that surgery or not. I just don't get that people can't see that the Democratic party are nothing more than Socialists. Socialism will end our society as we know it.

under the radar A Trained Professional

An entrepreneur is a person who has possession over a company, enterprise, or venture, and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and the outcome.

Most of the "wealthy" are that way because they took tremendous risk to get that way. When the government starts penalizing risk takers, these people are less likely to stick their necks out and oh, by the way, these risk takers, usually called small business owners, employ more people than any other sector in the USA. When you increase their taxes, their costs go up and they either employ less people or they raise prices or both. They lose, the employees lose, and the consumers (you and me) lose. It looks like a lose, lose, lose situation. Don't freeking get me started!

The government doesn't "give a ratzazz" about me either. They want to acquire power and hold onto it. I'm not being cynical, it's the truth! I told you not to get me started.
