You can win the battle sometimes but we won't win the war anytime soon. there are too many in the dark, unwilling part-timers that just don't get it and really don't care to. They see these token raises and benefits and are happy with it. They don't care about language, they don't care who the president is as long as he says UPS AND TEAMSTERS AGREE VOTE YES, they don't care about full-time raises, they don't care about 9.5 language, they don't care about the little things that are important to others. Basically aside from their 75 cent raise and benefits, The rest of the language they don't care about. This is still part-time america here at UPS. I asked a kid on the sort aisle what he thought of Ron Carey and Hoffa, the flow was kinda dead, and he said "whos that?" LOL Then I asked him who Jim Casey was and he said "is he a manager?" The average Teamster now has shifted into managements hands, silly putty waiting to be massaged and molded into a yes guy who pushes an unsafe amount of work down the conveyer because he doesn't know better. How do we change this? What is there to change really? It will take new leadership for one, but for that to happen there will have to be major concessions in the future contracts and overwhelming unhappiness from brothers and sisters that actually know better. So in the end, things likely will have to get worse to get better.
