The driver is the one who ultimately takes the fall after six hours of service violations. Keep the hours legal and the senior manager can't say a thing.

I misread that. Was thinking 82 was an express guy. Bbsam's right. They can't say anything as long as you are employed by the HD contractor (if its different than your current employer). As in a w2 from each company. You can run 6 days a week as long as you're under 70 hours for the week.

I work for a really good contractor, perhaps qualifying new drivers has become so impossible for him the only pool he can draw from is Express couriers by design. Hmmm

he can't pick the people off from the temp pool? they're already Fedex qualified (background checks, DOT cards doesn't expire for 2 years for most of us without health conditions)

the 2 local terminals called a bunch of temp drivers last month to update their info & keep as "backups" in case a regular contracted driver needs some time off or has an "emergency" (they're all still looking for a better situation than this, but there's still nothing better out there)
