Just think if the union stuck it's neck out and all Teamsters went on strike. It is after all The International Brotherhood.

When much of our workforce was union, that was certainly a viable option. Today, every union shop has to compete against many non union shops, making it way less effective.

Less effective? Maybe. But think of the possibilities. It starts with a Freight terminal...UPS Teamsters join in...Express couriers become emboldened...Ground drivers figure they have nothing to lose and everything to gain...union organizing explodes.

It's a lot to ask themto risk theirs to give us a chance at getting ours.

Is it? There's is being eroded away slowly anyway and yours can be taken at any moment. You don't really think corporate America is about to do an about face and treat workers fairly, do you? It's either "united we stand" or divided we're screwed. There is no organizing labor without organized labor in the game.

It's a nice thought to think all the OpCos could one day just say enough is enough walk away and come back as one whole OpCo. :tank:

I agree with you. I will tell you when the Express exodus really began. It was when the company tried to milk one last year of "the economy is still bad." We all saw it already pick up for a year . That was when people were like this :censored2: is not worth it if they're gonna straight lie to our faces. They tried to eeck out a little more profit for the shareholders and disregarded their own employees.

The Freight guys may have timed this perfectly. At no time has there been a greater shortage of A class drivers. They can't just call up another common carrier to come and haul away their loads when that other carrier doesn't have enough drivers of their own to handle what they have. They are plenty of big rig truck driving jobs available but when you consider the long hours , the criminal activity all around you and the cost of staying away from home for weeks at a time. it more than offsets the money they dangle in front of you.

Could you elaborate on "criminal activity?"
