Said they will address pay issues this summer. They said too many employees in the 5-10 year are leaving. I do believe you will get a raise, just didn't elaborate on what kind.

Obviously math isn't a strong suit for the posters here on BC. .62% means you multiply by the factor of .0062 to calculate your "Purple Promise "

All hear say from what guys at the Ramp are selling. I'll regurgitate and see what stick to the wall.
1) FedEx is trying to create a code to enter in your power pad. That when you are performing Handler work ( loading cans, off loading trucks), and you are a courier/swing/shuttle/csa, etc. you will be dropped down to that pay scale for the time you are in that code. Example you do your route from 1500-2000, end road activity than switch to package handling from 2010 to 2100, for the last 50 minutes of your day your paid handler pay.

2) This a more regional rumor. In an effort to enhance DRA some day route will get more pickups and stay on the road later, eliminating half of the pick up routes in the evening.

3) The carrot dangling theory of raises is no doubt in full swing. It seems just about everywhere the 5-8% rumor of a pay increase this fall is being sold. But perhaps most puzzling or troubling is management openly admits that the aforementioned points of #1 and #2 are true.

4) Handlers (DOT) and (Non DOT) for Express are not in line for a scheduled raise, yet again.

5) Make no mistake about it, if Express realizes it can legally drop your pay in special job codes, it will happen.
Part time employee isn't obligated to stay and work longer than their posted schedule. Full time doesn't have to stay either, because no one is home to watch the kids.. pick up the kids.. pick up the wife etc. Any employee asked to work for less pay, will opt to just go home.

Handlers have to enter their times in the power pad becasue they are trying to stop all paper time cards. It's a pain when you have to manually enter the whole time card into the system even when you only have a couple.

Then why have them generate a time card with the Pad at all? Just clock-in, clock-out. What else do they do? Frankly, the whole idea of switching to an electronic clock-in system BUT still generate paper printouts with the Pad for couriers is just freaking goofy too. They should modify the software to update the time-card system when the Pads are downloaded.

Yes, exactly. All I have read in the thread thus far is fascinating as well as entertaining. To re focus on the point. Can you imagine if you are a courier who off loads the cans in the AM sort for let's say 90 minutes. You do so at a rate of 12 or13 bucks and change, then when you start your route you perform courier work at a rate of 5 or 6 bucks more an hour? Wildly ridiculous, and evil enough....that it just may work.

Here, management can force a full time employee to work an hour past their scheduled end time. Part timers cannot be forced to work past their scheduled end time.

I think this is a different matter. It's one thing to take the split away. But to try and cut our pay for a function that is stated in our duties is another.
I'm saying the methodology is the same. By creating the differant pay structure for new hires, they create a problem they can "fix" later that screws everyone. Then they claim they are only doing it to be fair to all.
