Leonard Read Story

Many years ago, the great Leonard Read—founder of FEE and the man who advised Ron Paul to hire me—told the story of the postal employee meeting his friend, the UPS worker.

“How are you doing,” asked the guy in brown.

“Awful,” said the government guy. “You wouldn’t believe all the mail and packages we have to deal with. How about you?”

“Wonderful! You wouldn’t believe all the express letters and packages people send!”

Pretty fitting I thought as another peak season comes to a close!

I get that this little story is an example of the private vs. public worker mindset...

...but I have to say I would have given the postal worker's response :happy-very:!

There was not one day I worked out of a package car that I was happy :sad-very:.

Well, maybe the last day :wink2:.
