Most of the stewards are out for themselfs!

Here's a little story about those selfish stewards...
So a moronic manager gets a brainstorm to force bid feeder drivers to punch out early one day mid week, giving their assigned(bid) work to junior drivers so the senior guys will have hours left to work on Saturday. I call every sane manager above him I can find explaining the error hoping to stop this complete waste of UPS's money. (Not my position I know but I don't like stupidity from anyone) Anyway no one listens, about ten guys (including me) lose anywhere from 2-4 hours OT. I file the grievance, we win (of course) and as the labor guy is asking me for the settlement amounts for each driver he gets to me and I say "I withdraw my grievance" He tells me I'm also entitled, I agree but politely decline. I lost a few dollars on that deal but GAINED more respect and credibility as a steward for my guys than the $ were worth.
And most of the stewards are out for themselves...right. Hatebrown, go sharpen a pencil, write a letter to your mother and tell her you're sorry.

Obamacare doesn't kick in until 2018. The upcoming contract will be a 5 year one which will expire just before Obamacare kicks in. Our healthcare should be fine for this contract---all bets are off in 2018.

It's just like some of the republicans that went to Wisconsin to protest against the unions, their rally cry was why teachers and public workers were getting more and better,etc,etc....than the average worker in the state. So,let's drop their benefits ans salary to match everyone else's...sounds like socialism to me. Sick of hearing that word..socialism associated with Obama. Now I totally agree that people shouldnt be milking the system for 20 years....Hell no ,but someone who looses a job and can't afford healthcare for their kids...come on.
