Lunch as a dispatch tool

They only take out what you put in, here. So taking a full lunch only delays you getting home, no effects on paycheck.

They're cracking down with discipline here.
Not taking full meal=warning letter

Friend of mine drives in Cali, says the board locks them out for 30 minutes

I used to skip my lunch. Some years we got paid for it. Other years we wouldn't. I'd take enough time to eat and get back to work. I was young and had young kids at home I wanted to get home to. But of course that was back before Orion, EDD, and telematics. You could bust your ass then coast the rest of the day and be done at a decent time. Not any more. I make sure and take my whole hour no matter how many stops I have. You have to change with the system. Work the system.

Where I am, lunch isn't optional, and it's an hour here.

I'd like it to be thirty minutes, but it is what it is.

So full-rate lunch-skippers here lose $32+ every day.

Even more if you figure that taking your lunch at the proper time will likely put you into overtime, and we're talking thousands of dollars a year.

Go ask your sup if he or she will give you $4000.
