I'm right on the coast .
The ocean waves wash the road free of snow but fills them with rocks .

One report I saw showed 2-2.5 feet for the north shore. They are showing my area around 2 feet.

I was very young, but remember '78. We had a place on the coast too. All the sea walls were washed away & roads covered in rocks.

I'm. In the 8 to 14 inch shade. But if the storm shifts west 10 miles then we get the 14 to 24. Looks to be a mobile storage unit this week.

The anniversary of the blizzard of '78 is tomorrow - Jan. 26th. Coincidence?

Just saw the N.Y mayor on TV talking like no one ever saw a snow storm before.
He was talking about not walking because it could be slick....no duh!!
He mentioned branches of trees heavy with snow could break and fall on you.....no duh!
It was like he was talking to 5 year olds.

The Mayor did speak a few short sentences in broken Spanish and there was a sign language interpreter relaying his message.

I thought he did a very effective job of making sure everyone knows just how serious of a situation this could become.

I have been to NYC several times and cannot imagine up to 30'' of snow there.

The "Blizzard of '78" formed on February 5, 1978 (a Sunday) and broke up on February 7, 1978.
    Just googled it.

I do remember there was a very big snow storm not too long before 'the blizzard'
