And protecting it's marketplace. In a true free market, no one market player or group of market players could use gov't to overcome it's product's shortcomings. From State intervention using tax payer money protecting Copyright and IP "state granted" rights to this latest offering of pure crony capitalism, Microsoft (not that they by any stretch are alone) is displaying again that capitalism and socialism are by no means at odds with one another.

My favorite line is:

Charney urged government and tech industry officials to act collectively to protect citizens and critical infrastructure from growing cyberthreats. He compared unprotected and infected computers to unvaccinated and contagious individuals. Both, he said, can pose a threat to society.

Ah yes, the poor great unwashed when the truth is that Apple/Mac and a variety of open source software is a growing threat to Microsoft's marketshare because of it's own shortcomings and therefore they (Microsoft) needs gov't to protect their market turf. And the so-called free market right can't see the welfare statism in this?

Hmmmm!
