I am 100% serious! Being a preloader is by far the hardest ptime job there is! You have to load 3 to 4 trucks for well over a thousand pieces. You belt is backed up and you are tripping over packages on the floor while still having to monitor the bottom belt for bulk. Why can 70% do a good job and 30 % do a poor job under the same conditions????? Maybe some people can handle working unsafely while others do not want to twist an ankle, blow out a knee or wreck their back. Now throw in the pas system were you have 2 people unloading and 1 spa-er who cant keep up and the wrong labels are getting smacked on the wrong package and even over the original address. Again, I offer you the same answer 70% do it and 30% don't Were exactly are you getting these numbers? The truth is almost every preloader missorts and it can go un noticed because the trucks that get loaded together might actually be neighboring trucks and they can switch out the packages through out the day or at lunch. The trucks on either side of me are both 12 to 15 miles away from my route so we cant exchange missorts. Why? really bad planning on ups's part, does not make sense to put these 3 trucks in the same pull. But hey lets fire the poor preloader because the company did not give him a fighting chance! No one here has been suspended for missorts and will not be terminated for missorts. That explains why your District and Division and building are ranked so poorly corporately........ How exactly does this reflect my paycheck? Those are numbers that you need to worry about, my numbers that i worry about are deposited into my bank every Thursday night! the employee's seem to do whatever they want without any consequences!!....Poor management and poor union help to resolve problem that the company needs solved to provide better service to our customers........but you and local 705 don't give a rats ass about servicing our customers!! Once again you my friend are misinformed! The union about 3 years ago sent ups a letter to negotiate missorts, you know come up with some guidelines to insure the employees have a fair shot at pulling off this miracle. The company has never responded to these letters! 705's job is not to worry about servicing the customer, the union is here to protect the dues paying members that get abused on a daily basis by whip cracking management like yourself. I want to see the company grow but i also want to see the contract upheld, maybe you should try to do the same!
