Hi,

I am working for UPS SCS in Louisville, KY 3.5 years and now planing to move down to Florida somewhere between Tampa and Clearwater.
I work as Inventory specialist and I enjoy working for UPS. Can someone tell me if it possible to transfer my job to new location in Florida and best way to do it?

Thank you all for reply.

I know that UPS doesn't transfer but I was thinking if is there position available with UPS SCS in Florida can I apply for.
Also I don't expect to get same position I am doing right now but something to start with just to keep my benefits and years employment with UPS.
Talk to my supervisor no help at all he just forward me to somebody else.
I did ask questions my HR representative but he did not have much of answers for me except telling me to call Corporate HR. When I call Corporate HR and enter my Employee ID it instruct me to call my local HR representative it is impossible get live person to talk to. Is there somebody from Tampa or Clearwater to give me some contact numbers for local HR departments?

once a person seperates from the company, there is usually a "no re-hire" policy. it doesnt make sense to me either. but that is the general rule.

wow, i am most happy to learn that as i am now in a different city and perhaps i will now reapply with ups here. great to know, thanks. :happy2:

DS- at the time you were downsized, didn't they tell you that you were eligible for rehire? That's what we told our employees. For those that were not able to secure another position within the district, we certainly gave them a YES rehire status and we made it clear to them that they were eligible for rehire.

That is no longer the general rule. If you leave on good terms, you get a YES rehire status.

I know of at least 10 part timers that were rehired when they moved on with their schooling from my center. They got a rehire card from HR before they left. My old preloader never missed a day's work cause he planned ahead and he even moved to another District. Of course it helped that he was a graet loader before PAS days.

I think the part that everyone has been missing is the fact that he works for SCS and I believe they play by a different set of rules there as they are non-Union.

Upstate: Your absolutely right about SCS having different rules. They probably change them more than in package..I'd be afraid to work there if I worked.

I was speaking from an HR viewpoint for non-union as well as union. I would have to agree with you though, that SCS may have different rules.

Thank you all again for replies.

UpstateNY is right I am part of non-union side of UPS but I have to say that all UPS rules apply to us except union specific negotiated in contract.
As far I know if you leave in good terms you are eligible for rehire.
I was hoping there is way just to move to another location without quitting job.
