My pension

Retired UPS driver 28 years in 2006. Will UPS still back up my pension?

From what I see is that any UPS retiree or anyone retiring from a company still in business today will be last to take a cut if ever. Cuts will be done to ones that are retired from a company that is no longer in business first. There is wording in the contract you had to work a day into the 2008 to be protected where UPS would make up any decrease CS had to make, In our new contract also. I'm sure you will be fine even though you retired prior to the 2008. There is lots of discussion here. There are many false rumors going around. http://www.browncafe.com/community/threads/more-gloom-and-doom-cs-is-tanking.361251/

I think upschuck makes a really good point----the OP would have had to work at least one day under the new contract to have his pension protected.
