The NSA has to collect the metadata from all of our phone calls because terrorists, right? And the spy agency absolutely must intercept Skypes you conduct with folks out-of-state, or else terrorism. It must sift through your iCloud data and Facebook status updates too, because Al Qaeda.

Terrorists are everywhere, they are legion, they are dangerous, and, unfortunately, they don't really do any of the stuff described above.

So, essentially, the NSA is deeply compromising our privacy so that it can do an extremely ****ty job of looking for terrorists. Nice.

Sorry, NSA, Terrorists Don't Use Verizon. Or Skype. Or Gmail.

If you still buy the fiction of the national security state, you might consider the story of whistleblower Julia Davis. Especially those of you who consider the situation at the border of major importance.

"Top Priority: The Terror Within" is a documentary film by Fleur De Lis Film Studios. It features an incredible true story of Julia Davis, a national security whistleblower who was falsely declared a "Domestic Terrorist" and subjected to retaliation of unprecedented proportions by the Department of Homeland Security. She joins us to discuss what happened when she discovered and reported a breach of national security at the largest and busiest land border crossing in the U.S. on 4th of July, 2004. The DHS failed to act on her reports but instead of correcting the shortcomings exposed by Julia's report, they opened investigations against her. Her husband BJ, a film producer who documented these events with a camera, also joins in to talk about the detailed events of this major story, never reported on by mainstream media, although Julia took her case to court and won.

2nd hour
Red Ice Radio - Julia & BJ Davis - Hour 2 - Top Priority: The Terror Within - YouTube

And for some of you who know who you are, move along, nothing to see here. Long presentation that requires thinking. However here's a great website befitting your mental capacities and attention span!

When people download a film from Netflix to a flatscreen, or turn on web radio, they could be alerting unwanted watchers to exactly what they are doing and where they are.

Spies will no longer have to plant bugs in your home - the rise of 'connected' gadgets controlled by apps will mean that people 'bug' their own homes, says CIA director David Petraeus.

The CIA claims it will be able to 'read' these devices via the internet - and perhaps even via radio waves from outside the home.

Could this really be our future or is it our present?
