New code for air service failures: Tendered to ups too late, even with a pick up time

so we get 22 letters a little late at the air recovery, but the friend/t sups sets them asside because another late drive has 115 late arriving air. well it keeps adding up with another late driver. the new answer, scan them all tenedered to UPS to late, cancels out the service refund, keeps the service failure off reprot, because it goes back and blames the shipper for not getting the shipment ready in time for the driver to get it back to the facility in time for the evening departure to the airport. oh, don;t look at the 3;24pm pickup time, the driver didn;t get back to the building until 17:59, almost 30 minutes after air cut off time. now the shipper does not get the guarantee refund and the sort doesn't get gigged with the missed origin or left in building failure. such a sweet deal, i;m glad we came up with this exception code, all the managers are happy, their numbers are improving with the correct code on the scanner. we'll all ge getting new t=shirts with this deal.

Contact the shipper and anonymously let them know of the end around by UPS. I bet it wont take long for it to be changed back.

UPS should fire the whole management team at this facility for even thinking they could get away with this scam.

I would like p-man to comment on this...if this is true it seems unethical. If it is true I wonder if it's because of these different companies which track packages for customers then the ones that are late they get a refund then take a cut of the money.

This is not a new (code) exception, it's been around for quite a few years. It seems however someone has wandered upon an unethical use of it. On the bright side: Very few clerks, who should be processing the missed exception for these packages, would use this one. You see our login info is tagged along with any exception/correction info made on any package. This is then trace-able right back to "our fingers", the few, or many, bogus "Tendered To UPS Late" should be tracked by your actual clerks so they can see who entered this/these exception(s).

Take a complaint of this with names to atlanta anonomously. It has worked in our center over similar type ripping off of the customer.

Air volume is down because shippers have begun to figure out that they don't have to have it there first thing in the morning and that we have other less expensive yet equally reliable service options.
