Not laying off Feeder drivers.

Our local agreement with the company does not give seniority feeder drivers a 40 hr work week. We have about 175 runs and over 50 dvrs on the coverboard. Alot of these coverboard drivers are working only 2 days a week. Management puts some of the dvrs back in the hub, but claims they don't have to. The union and the co. both say feeder drivers are not guarantied 40 hrs. Is this true?

local 667. If you have a bid run, you are guaranted 40hrs. Only drivers on the coverboard are not guarenteed 40hrs. They have cut about 25 runs in 4 years. Any info you may have to help our local are greatly needed.

Here, if you are an on call/cover driver you do not have a 40 hour guarantee. The only drivers that are guaranteed 40 are the drivers with a bid. If you are on the extra board and bid a job for the week you are guaranteed 40, otherwise you get what you get.
