I can not believe that you and I have the same political views. Weird.

I know. Another very successful contractor and I often find ourselves confronted by folks on the right insisting that they thought certainly we would be republicans.

On a side note, Tekk, where in Florida? We took the kids to Disney and Bears/Jacksonville game. Orlando I beautiful, but their roads are very confusing.

Bernie Madoff real enough for you? Obama said it the other night. Alot of jobs aren't coming back. We may as well get used to the new reality and start training and retraining for the next economy.

Bernie Madoff was a totally different animal. Bad analogy.

Not true. Some are returning because costs have gone up overseas and the added cost to ship is prohibitive. Also, some countries are finding American exploitation tiring.

Typical. Countries are clamoring for trade to provide jobs for their citizens. What countries are you talking about? Venezuela? The Mideast extremists? And name the returning factories. Of course there may be a few, but where's the stream of manufacturers coming back?

He had people standing in line waiting to buy the crap was selling.

Gordon Gekko, the character, was a corporate raider who broke up companies after getting a controlling interest. Madoff was a flim flam artist running a pyramid scheme. He got away with it because he had a legitimate, very respected investment firm run by his sons. He handled the pyramid scheme on his own in his office. Now if you had pointed out Goldman-Sachs I'd have agreed with you. Big contributors to Obama in 2008 by the way.

Obama's speech came out exactly as he meant it and classically Rove and company took it out of context. There is no way to listen to the whole thing and the honestly come to any other conclusion.

Listened to the whole thing, saw the words come out of his mouth. If anyone altered the President's speech and broadcasted it the FCC would have been all over them. There is such a thing as credibility and FOX would be out of business if they tried to pull that. Sorry, truth hurts.

The ROMNEY-RYAN plan takes $700 BILLION AWAY FROM SENIORS but does
NOT
use it to fund HEALTH SERVICES for ANYBODY. Yet Republicans in the House voted to strip that $700 Billion FROM SENIORS ENTIRELY. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates under the ROMNEY-RYAN plan new Medicare beneficiaries will pay more than $1,200 OUT OF POCKET by 2030 and more than $5,900 more by 2050 and SHIFT ADDITIONAL COSTS to seniors by RAISING the eligibility age to 67. This NEGATIVELY impacts today's middle-aged, middle class HARD WORKING Americans while giving the wealthiest 1-percent HUGE TAX BREAKS. It's amazing what reading the whole CBO report reveals. By the way I have been keeping up,but everything you say is a Fox News ,Republican talking point. Nothing new,the Karl Rove "If you repeat a lie enough people will think it's true " trick. You can bring it,but I will respond. I am more informed than you realize, the thing is I came to this forum to discuss the situation at Fedex not politics. So Good Night Sir and Enjoy Your Weekend.

The Republicans voted for it? The Republicans can't act unilaterally. The Senate has to approve it, the President has to sign it. And you have to at least understand this. Romney/Ryan aren't proposing any changes to current plans for those 55 and older. But they are looking to address the soaring debt by controlling future costs. It's reality. Your man ran up the debt, they are trying to fix the problem. We had big enough problems with providing for the huge Baby Boom generation. Then Obama came in and exploded the debt, and has plans to greatly raise it even inspite of all the warning signs. Are you lemmings? Just march off the cliff because everyone else is doing it? It's not by accident that countries in Europe that are careful with their finances are doing much better than Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Ireland and pretty soon the U.K. and France. Why would anyone after seeing what is happening to those countries think we can continue down this path of massive spending? And yet it always comes down to jealousy of the rich. As Romney pointed out in the last debate, the top 5% of income earners pay 60% of income taxes. And yet you think we can fix all the problems if we just milk the nasty rich for more. If the rich are going to pay more they'll hang on to their cash instead of investing it and there goes millions of jobs. It's not a Republican talking point. It's Economics 101. John friend. Kennedy even pointed this out. But hey, anyone who points this out is evil, greedy, doesn't care about his fellow man, yada yada yada. Want to help the middle class? Give companies incentives to hire, not give people incentives to not work.

Here are a few reasons I will not vote for Obama,

Obama’s administration implemented rules that require insurance companies and self-insured employers to cover contraceptives with no co-pay or deductible. If a religiously affiliated organization objects to providing that coverage, its insurance still is required to cover contraception at no cost to women.
Obama also supports federal funds for Planned Parenthood, which provides many services including birth control. The organization says 46 percent of its funding – about $487.4 million – comes from the state and federal governments.

Obamacare

  1. ObamaCare was written by the health insurance and drug industry lobbyists.
  2. ObamaCare puts in place new rules that prohibit plans with annual limits.
  3. Obamacare puts 15 unelected bureaucrats in charge of meeting a budget target in Medicare with its newly created Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) .
  4. Obamacare delivers a strong blow to Medicare Advantage (MA), which allows seniors to receive Medicare benefits from a private health plan of their choosing.
  5. ObamaCare expands Medicaid (medical care for the poor) to everyone (under the Medicare age of 65) who has income less than 133% the federal poverty level.
  6. ObamaCare will shorten the amount of time Doctors have with each patient, and lengthen the amount of time patients will have to wait.
  7. ObamaCare means a two-tier Health Care System.
  8. Obamacare attempts to address the challenge of covering people with pre-existing conditions with heavy-handed mandates, especially the requirement that all Americans enroll in government-approved insurance plans (the so-called "individual mandate").
  9. Obamacare is deeply unpopular because it is based on a bureaucratic, government-centered vision of American health care.
  10. Obamacare will require us to pay insurers for “preventive care” as defined by government.
  11. Obamacare will restrict the ability of insurance companies to consider health risks when setting insurance premiums.
  12. Obamacare asserts on Congress's behalf a power to restrain the liberty of an extremely broad group of Americans, and these Americans have not revealed any tendency to endanger their neighbors as the ex-inmates had in Comstock .
  13. Obamacare is at least a step toward the egalitarianism Jesus tried to teach us.
  14. Obamacare is probably the first case to ever involve what is arguably a sleeper tax -- that is, a tax that isn't called a tax in the law itself, but may behave like one.
  15. Obamacare and the EPA will together revoke and invalidate the US Constitution.
  16. Obamacare has nothing to do with my healthcare-its provided through my company.
  17. Obamacare includes provisions for people who are so bad off they can't afford a premium.
  18. Obamacare failure now evident as health care costs rise nationwide.
  19. Obamacare, and its vast catalog of new rules and regulations, does exactly what we don't need. It makes it impossible for firms to make any reasonable estimate about the costs and the potential profits from investments.
  20. Obamacare itself, which has consistently polled badly, fueled that movement.
  21. ObamaCare which doesn't take full effect until 2014 is far from perfect.
  22. ObamaCare is holding your health care hostage and offering no real choice.
  23. Obamacare will cause controversy no matter what's said about it, and is likely to continue as a source of controversy long after the Supreme Court renders its decision this Thursday.
  24. Obamacare stymies their efforts with bureaucracy without making any effort to bolster their ranks or their morale.
  25. ObamaCare is leaving a comet tail of broken promises as it steamrolls its way through our economy and into our lives.
  26. Obamacare instead could be repealed and replaced with far superior reforms...which in fact are the author's recommendations.
  27. ObamaCare is just the latest in a very long series of Unconstitutional Federal over reaches never intended by our Founding Fathers.
  28. Obamacare will speed the U.S. along the road to insolvency.
  29. Obamacare also means that for up to 20 million Americans, they will lose the insurance they currently have, the insurance that they like and they want to keep.
  30. Obamacare is a job killer.
  31. Obamacare will die at least one of three deaths: judicial, political or economic. If the Supreme Court allows this abomination to stand, voters can still deliver its death blow at the polls in November.
  32. Obamacare sticks the states with a $50 billion additional copay on a vastly-expanded version of Medicaid—and threatens to withdraw every Medicaid dollar from a state if they refuse—while at the same time continuing to tax all the citizens of that state through their bi-weekly payroll taxes is an unconstitutional assault on the status of the states as sovereigns that are coequal with the federal government.
  33. ObamaCare uses the Social Security language of the Internal Revenue Code to determine who is eligible for “religious conscience” objection to the insurance mandate.
  34. ObamaCare is specifically written not to apply equally to everyone.
  35. Obamacare is what happens when things like the commerce clause are allowed to be distorted. Like the right uses it to ban marijuana despite it should be a state issue and despite the Constitution having been amended (twice!) to ban alcohol.
  36. Obamacare is yet another vehicle designed to TAKE our God given Freedom.

Obama seeks to move America forward to "total government involvement in people's lives."

Being a Hispanic, female, Catholic and middle income this just makes my skin crawl.....

Thank you goldilocks for the brainwashing. You have opened my eyes. Not. There is nothing wrong with making sure every citizen has acces to healthcare. I have seen healthcare skyrocket and become unattainable for a lot of folks over the years well before Obama. This is nothing new. As someone who has lost their mother to cancer, I know the importance of acces to good healthcare early in life all too well. And anyone with a serious illness or injury should not have to worry how to pay for it over getting treatment. If this is the greatest country on the planet then making sure its citizens have acces to healthcare is a priority. If you don't have your health, you have nothing.

Dude just quoting the CBO,what amazes me is that you guys want less government but when things go bad you blame the government, and you say the government does not create jobs but it apparently creates unemployment, you want less regulations and the recession was the result of less regulation, you bash the stimulus but then go begging for some of the money, claim the stock market when it goes down is the governments fault but when it hits all time highs not a peep.Bash and insult people but when its done to them they go the clutching pearls act. Sorry dude but I will never change my views.

Looks like Romney will win. Let's see how his policies work out. And it's about more than just the economy. Obama's administration has tried to force religious institutions to violate their conscience. And we're supposed to have a transparent government yet we now have two incidents where American citizens were killed. Sending thousands of unmonitored guns into the hands of drug cartels in Mexico as well as removing security teams inspite requests for them in Libya. In both situations our administration has circled the wagons to protect it's own rather than firing responsible parties. Just because they're Democrats doesn't mean you should support them no matter what.

The remark about who doesn't want free healthcare is telling. The reason our finances are in such a mess is apparently there's no restraint. Just print money to pay the bills. It's very much like our situation at FedEx. Certainly FedEx could do better but people here think we should receive as much compensation as UPS drivers. We are two very different companies and FedEx has costs UPS doesn't. Notice how there's more profit with trucking the freight? Yes, I know about the cheap employees. But UPS has been trucking the bulk of it's freight forever. It's more profitable than if they sent most of it by plane. As FedEx Ground grows FedEx will become more and more profitable, but if money is spent on drivers it'll be on the Ground guys. That's where the growth is. We're on the short end of the stick at Express and yet y'all think we should be getting $30+hr with great benefits while the Ground guys are working for half of that, or less, with no benefits. Real World 101 says y'all have unrealistic expectations and yet you kick and scream and carry on like spoiled teenagers. It's no wonder the country is in huge trouble. Everyone wants and wants, and very few seem to realize the piper needs to be paid. You will soon enough.
