The Republicans voted for it? The Republicans can't act unilaterally. The Senate has to approve it, the President has to sign it. And you have to at least understand this. Romney/Ryan aren't proposing any changes to current plans for those 55 and older. But they are looking to address the soaring debt by controlling future costs. It's reality. Your man ran up the debt, they are trying to fix the problem. We had big enough problems with providing for the huge Baby Boom generation. Then Obama came in and exploded the debt, and has plans to greatly raise it even inspite of all the warning signs. Are you lemmings? Just march off the cliff because everyone else is doing it? It's not by accident that countries in Europe that are careful with their finances are doing much better than Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Ireland and pretty soon the U.K. and France. Why would anyone after seeing what is happening to those countries think we can continue down this path of massive spending? And yet it always comes down to jealousy of the rich. As Romney pointed out in the last debate, the top 5% of income earners pay 60% of income taxes. And yet you think we can fix all the problems if we just milk the nasty rich for more. If the rich are going to pay more they'll hang on to their cash instead of investing it and there goes millions of jobs. It's not a Republican talking point. It's Economics 101. John friend. Kennedy even pointed this out. But hey, anyone who points this out is evil, greedy, doesn't care about his fellow man, yada yada yada. Want to help the middle class? Give companies incentives to hire, not give people incentives to not work.
