A thread about historic events on the day of the month.

On this day (6 Jan) in 1994 figure skater Nancy Kerrigan was clubbed on the right leg by an assailant
at Cobo Arena in Detroit. (Four men, including the ex-husband of Kerrigan's rival, Tonya Harding, later
were sentenced to prison for the incident.)

He had some real issues at the end of his life. He was a genius. When it came to chess, he was one of the worlds best.
It seems "some" people with very high IQs and and or tremendous talents have demons in their life. I think of
Judy Garland, Vincent Van Gosh and Ernest Hemingway as a few examples.
