Opinions: Driver liability.

I have seen many guys get into civilian-induced accidents that were not their fault by a long shot. I'd like to hear some input on the fact that we are given so little slack even if the other driver clearly ran into our trucks on purpose we would be held liable. Has this happene to anyone? One of our drivers and a good buddy of mine lost his job due to an elderly woman having a heart attack behind the wheel and hitting him.

It depends on the accident. We`ve seen drivers charged with accidents that were hit by drunks,street racers,etc. There was also a driver involved with a fatal,not his fault,that was not charged with any accident at all to protect UPS from any liability from the family of the deceased.
