Option days

    When will I recieve my option days after being with UPS for a year? Thanks

    new sick optional and vacation begin may 1st

    This will vary from region to region as we get our days 1 January.

    my mistake east new england gets theirs on may 1st read your supplement that will tell you or ask your shop steward.

    Damn, we don't get our optionals til we have two years under our belts.

    You sound like your afraid of real competition. Look out next year because here we come.

    Unless it's changed in this current contract, South East region gets their option week on Jan 1st after 3 full years worked at Jan 1st. I got screwed with my Feb hire there.

    It appears to be different from area to area. Here you have to have at least 2 years seniority on any given May 1 to get the two paid optional days.

    Not sure if the South East region changed how optional days are awarded, but I am sure the South East region changed. It's just the East region now.

    Well it seems you're probably right, I don't have my old contract to verify, but my new one says just Southern. Oh well, can't fault a guy for assuming Florida would be in a South Eastern region.
