How long do you need to notify management that you want to use an option day? 2nd why does it seem even if you ask days in advance for an option day its still an issue?

Whenever you tell them, they tell you a week beforehand if you get it or not.

By using it, do you mean time off, or extra pay?

At least one week ahead of the day that you want off.

Option 3 days can be taken any day. It is preferred you give them at least an hours notice before start time. We have had guys break down on the way to work and use an option day 15 minutes before start time.

It is always an issue because they don't want you to take the day off. They rather try to make you come in, instead of them having to find someone to do your job for the day.

    Depends on the supplement.

Some supplements allow you to use one with an hours notice before your start time that day.

Others, like the Central, require 8 days advanced notice.

    This isn't entirely true.

  12. this is simple.....call at least 1 hr before start time, sup picks up the phone, you say...not coming in today, option 3 ....sup starts to bump his gums, you hang up.....

see that really pisses me off because typically i try to give several days notice as a courtesy and its always an issue.

Because their too stupid to be prepared, which in turn is not our fault. If you need a day off, you need a day off. Period.

It's only an issue if they deny you the day, if you've given them advance notice, per your supplement.

If out guys have days left some will give them advanced notice but tell them they will not be here that day, it's not a question it's a fact. Other call in that morning and tell them not coming in, option day, sorry about your luck, should have been prepared!

    It is in my center.

Yes, you can call in up to one hour before start time, but they prefer as much notice as possible.
