You just started with ups. All that other time doesn't mean anything at all so bringing it up like it counts is pointless. Everyone here takes care of their family. That's why we put up with what we do. Everyone here has had obstacles to overcome to get to where they are. You aren't special because of it. I had it a lot worse when I was part time and I never once thought of quitting. Like I said, if you were serious back then about making ups a careers, you make choices and sacrifices. Everyone has. As far as being a "real upser ", it's not about that. You want to go to the front of the line just because you used to work here and quit. Everyone who doesn't have you "pride" should just quit and let you do it. Sorry but that's where you lost my respect. I know much more deserving PT guys who are still waiting and going through worse. And if you make really good money then why try to rush to be a ups driver? You're 32. It could almost or past when you're 40 before you might get a FT bid. Then there's progression for 4 years. You're looking at almost being 50. Then you're going to 20 years for a minimum pension?(35 is max). Just doesn't make sense if you make so much already. You took the easy way out and now you want to come back and have everyone give you encouragement and respect. You could of transferred different shifts at ups if it was interfering your FT day job. Lots of guys do it.
