Package w/ required signature was left without signature and stolen

Last time I checked, we don't have a "left at gate option" for dr'ing a package. How did you come up with this conclusion?

Sure we do--you would select "other" and type in the location.

Take a minute today and scroll through all of the available DR locations--you may be surprised.

I have used a tree house to DR a pkg.

the UPS site is ridiculously complex with its additional handling options

FedEx and USPS have far, far, far more streamlined sites

which, honestly, kinda pisses me off considering how many billions we supposedly spend on tech infrastructure, where the **** does it go to?? telematics? more CHSP rubbish?

#1 shareholder satisfaction
#2 corporate fatcat salaries
#3 is customer satisfaction, iirc...but it may have fallen lower. ;)

I didn't select "deliver without signature" which is free. There isn't an option to require a signature, so that should mean a signature is required by default, correct? I always get a copy of the signature in the mail. This has never happened before.

Correction - There IS an option to request a signature and it's called Delivery Confirmation Signature Required.

UPS: Delivery Confirmation

UPS will automatically get a signature at commercial destinations but leave a package at a residential destination without a signature unless you request (and pay for) Delivery Confirmation Signature Required.

Could be a driver followup (never tried to track one of them), but it was awfully danged fast.

Could be that the package was recovered and delivery was made to the correct location today with the driver getting a signature this time.

or the driver went back, found the package, gave it to the person, got a signature.

or the customer found the package and when the driver went back, the consignee was honest, said they found it and signed for it.

A bunch of years ago, I delivered a package to a guy's pick up at his dairy farm. He never took it out of the truck or told his wife he had it, she called in a claim. I got the signature the next day.

We are also supposed to type in a specific location in the 'comments' section if we DR to one of the 'letter' options. Ex. 'M' I think if for 'milkhouse.' Except the only screen that shows as milkhouse is the diad. If the package is tracked, it will show driver released other. If the location is added to the comments, a live person at UPS can see that and answer any concerns. The DR screens beyond the main screen are a waste of time, from what I have seen.

If that's the case most of my DRs will be hard to trace since Front Porch is on my second screen.
