I took FMLA leave in November and December when my son was born. I started discussions with the Center Manager in March and that is when the company started fighting me on it. Stand your ground. They get upset because they have no control over when you use the leave. I tried to work with them and come in for other shifts which is allowed under the FMLA but no way. Good luck to anyone who tries to use this leave.

FMLA in california you get paid 6 weeks .you get paid through the state not UPS you are allowed to take 12 weeks but only 6 weeks are paid you can break it up if you like and it is not only for the birth of a child . you can use it to take care of a sick family member also. might be different in other states check with human resources or your local EDD office
