If your local gave you a option to give half of your raises to get $400 more a mouth and $100 more at the fifth year and the company was contributing 10 years worth for five years.

I'm all for responsible pensions. These pensions that pay out 4500 to 6000 are irresponsible. A good 3500 a month pension should be good enough provided people aren't a bunch of dummies.

3500/month with insurance would be good. I'm at almost 4300/month, but no insurance.

No offense, but we're talking apples and oranges.
