LoL , interesting thread. I didn't actually expect to find any peta supporters on this thread other than maybe Suzie Q. I agree most of your serious hunters are responsible sportsmen who through licenses actually help the preservation of wildlife. Its an interesting point since hunters financially do more to preserve wildlife than most of these Peta fanatics. I also think trickponys point a good one. There is a group of hunters out there that are maliciously inhumane towards animals and endanger the rest of us with their recklessness. Its a point I think we have to address and police in order to preserve the right to hunt. Most of your fanatical animal lovers probably come from urban areas. Removed from and not exposed to the responsible sportsman they can wield a lot of political clout against hunting and hunters if we do not police our own. My wife and I often have this debate. My wife is no Peta nut and despises those people and their idiotic ways. But everytime she sees our neighbor across the street bring home a beautifull buck or doe she cries. I understand how she feels. I would prefer to hunt wildlife with a camera rather than a gun. My dad has always been a big hunter but while I have hunted I never really took to it since I don't particularly favor the taste of wild meat. Fishing is another story. can there be any greater thrill than to watch a hog bass jump up and look you in the eye as he tries to shake your lure loose. There is a need for hunting in this country regardless of whether we like it or not. As mankind has spread across this country we have taken out many of the predators that kept nature in check. As inhumane as it is to have some idiot wing a deer causing a slow painfull death; it would be much more inhumane to allow those deer to overpopulate and starve to death.
