The water is turned brown from the roots of hemlock trees up stream.

Tequamenon Falls. The color is caused by tannin which is caused by decaying vegetation. I have almost the exact same pic from a trip to MI.

Her pics are nice but don't show the whole picture. The Grand Canyon can only be truly appreciated in person, whether at an observation point, by helicopter or by burro.
