Died earlier today of cancer. As a huge fan of the band even before Darkside of the Moon, this really bums me out. First saw them in 72' touring to support Meddle.

I'll never forget those first piano notes from Echoes played through a Leslie rotary speaker and the anticipation of what was about to come!

RIP Rick and thanks for all the good music!

I'll see you on the darkside of the moon!

Yeah, what a force they are/were. I'm just so :censored2: that they couldn't put it together for one more album/tour. Now it's too late. I love these guys. Such emotion unparalleled.
I saw them front row at Soldier Field in 1994 on The Division Bell Tour. That was almost a surreal experience. I'll never forget it as long as I breathe in the air.
May his soul rest in heaven with God. Peace.

For life is a short, warm moment
And death is a long, cold rest
You get your chance to try, in the twinking of an eye
Eighty years with luck, or even less
