It all depends on how much time you have with the company. The lowest paid part time supervisor is guaranteed about $385 dolllars a week before taxes. I think they start them around $14.00 a hour and they are guaranteed 27.5 hours a week.

If we didn't discipline, the company would be long gone. Very few inside operations employees actually care about the customers. I tend to believe most package drivers do, but only because of the daily interaction with the customers. I saw a kid last night walk across packages that were laying on the ground in a feeder. Every step he took damaged a package. I confronted the young man and he smiled and said sorry. He looks at a package and sees work, not a customer. He is the reason it is neccessary to write people up.

I love it when someone says we don't care about the customers. I guess you have not noticed the rapid decline in customer service in this place. PAS is a customers nightmare.

PAS has nothing to do with guys in the hub walking on packages or using them as ladders to build their walls.

We have a number of apple orchards here and they send out many, many gift baskets. One of our drivers who picks up at one of the orchards was watching the kids on the belt unload his pkg car on night and the kids were throwing the gift baskets on to the belt, damaging several of them, when all they had to do was get a folding roller. This driver told us about it the next morning and how this year has been the highest for damages for this orchard.

We'll take care of the customers. You guys take care of the packages.

I agree that PAS has nothing to do with damages at the hub....but damages at the hub has nothing to do with businesses getting mad at us because their stuff gets cut from truck to truck and they have no idea what time to expect to get their stuff on a daily basis.

That is not something to be proud of your monthly house payment being more than what someones rent is for the year? In my case you couldn't rent a studio apartment for what my monthly morgage is and I live in a nice 1800 sq ft three bedroom house.

I've realized over the years (24) that if I busted my hump every single day that at the end of my career I would not have a body left in decent shape for me to use and enjoy my retirement. I already have a bad knee due to preloading for 14 years and it wasn't because I wasn't using the methods.

My first priority is to do the best for my internal customers - the preloaders.

My observation is that supervisors come and go... and when they go it's usually because they did something stupid.

I don't know what the three things are from a manager's viewpoint, but for a PCD, it's service, service, service. And that's 365 days a year.
