Prerecord

Our center manager made an announcement during the PCM yesterday that we are no longer allowed to use the prerecord function in the DIAD. He told us that one of our drivers had put an air stop in prerecord and when he went to complete the stop it showed as late, due to the change in the time stamp. He told us that rather than use prerecord when indirecting we should just get two separate signatures. He refused to take any questions on this policy change, which was met with a lot of resistance. While I do understand his reasoning, I use prerecord quite a bit and will continue to do so as it is an invaluable time saver.

Prerecord is periodically a hot topic. Always after someone messes up using it. Mostly it ends up as don't use it but you still can as long as you don't mess up. If you do then it all lands on you for failing to follow instructions. As long as nothing shows up late it gets ignored.
