Re: Obamanation here today Your trying to put history into a few sentences. Canada and the UK were right at the start of WW2. Americans enterd Europe 1943 or 2 yrs before it was over. Anyways, yes, the americans joining in, prevented the loss of more lives of English and Canadians, but by no means were the germans be able to take over any on of those countries. They did bomb England with airstrikes, thats only how far it went. Canada didn't have anything at all on thier soil. After WW2, germany was divided into 4 sectors (french, US, British, and Russian) and so was Berlin, the city itself. The Russians never returned thier share of Germany back to the germans (Thats how East Germany was founded, and East Berlin). And the Russians even went further then that.. took over countries such as the Czech Republik, Hungary, Polen, Bulgaria, just to name a few, while the rest of the world just stood by). Anyways, yes, the cold war (with the Americans playing the big brother, yes that helped, but all these "new communist created eastern countries" were going broke in time. Polen was the first (with Lech Walesa), to say hell with those Russians, we are leaving. That created eventually a chain reaction. Hungary tried before in 1959, but Russian tanks moved in. In 1990, with Gorbatschow (most lienent Russian Leader, ever). He didn't interfere this time (late 80's). Thats what started the crumble. Enough said. Sure.I agree, we pay more taxes then the USA (our taxfreedom day is 6 weeks later then yours), but don't think for a minute that won't change. As every US citizen, man, woman, child, is now close to $50K in goverment debt alone. The interesst alone, will cost mega billions every year in the budgets, without paying down the debt. As for your healthcare system : You probably do have the best doctors and hospitals in the world (You steal nurses and doctors from us, and other countries, too - because you pay them more). But, to say it's the best "System". No it's not. I can tell you this : It's the worlds most expensive System. (and leaves over 27% totally left out from it)
