PT Car Wash/Fueler?

Is the car washer a desired pt position? How is the pay? Is it the same as a package handler would get?

In RI it's considered the "close to retirement" bid. It's top driver rate BUT no overtime. They start the shift about 6pm. Your talking 25+ years seniority to get those.

Our washing and fueling mixes in with the Local sort. Pay is the same as a Package Handler (unloader) as you dont get the extra dollar for skilled. So if you are Just starting out its $8.50/hr. We do have 2 article 22s One works Ls/Wash and one that Wash/works preload.

I believe most of our car washers used to be part-time before the creation of combo jobs, then they became fulltime positions to satisfy the 22.3 language. Since then they have significantly cut back on car washers and has even "laid off" existing combo employees who were doing car washing as one of their two jobs. As said before they are usually positions that go to high seniority employees since they are seen as easy jobs, but the chance of you getting one depends on your building, and area language regarding them.
