PT Sup - 6 month review = raise?

A coworker vaguely talked about some 6 month review from coordinators after becoming a supervisor and the possibility of getting a higher than normal raise..

Can anyone help explain this..?

It sounds pretty straight forward. Your performance is reviewed and your raise is based (in part) on the results of the PR.
