I seem to remember my upper 20's to 30's but with the kids and all of their stuff they were a blur.

When you go to the dmv on monday, bring every freaking piece of official paper with your name on it . - library card, blockbuster id card, gym membership card in addition to the official cards like ss card, etc. Also, i don't know if ny is following jersey's lead in proving residency. Find out . But bring a telephone bill ( if not in your name, then your mother's name) and or a cellphone bill hopefully in your name . Better to bring one document too many than one too few. Bring a pen, and bring your patience because mondays at the dmv are always more crowded than any other day in addition to the staff pissed off that they have to work again.

The NYS DMV website lists all of the identification that can be used to verify his identification. All he has to do is go to the site and bring the paperwork that he has that is on the list. He will then receive his temporary non-driver photo ID that day, which he can then take along with his SS card and school ID to his interview on Tuesday.

i didnt even have enough proof..i was off by a point.....so now im going to the interview today with just the school id..i will try to explain to the interviewer my situation..im going to have my mother come with me so sign a mv44 form to get some more points..wish me luck, sir

bc unless its something you really need it signed (youre 18 so i dont know why you would) it looks kinda umm i dont know a good word off hand, to have your mommy come to an interview......

sorry if you were confused about the mv 44..its a form at the DMV my parent or guardian signs for points in order to receive the state id..

so i went to the little tour thing..the HR was indian so i couldnt make out much but i got the general idea..i like the pros of the job and i can deal with the cons..he did mention a couple things that i didnt know..like someone raised their hand about the salary..he said that the morning shift makes 9.50 because they have more to do..(i was applying for the twilight or the one after)..so after the whole tour he announces the interviews will be tomm at 4pm...after he escorted everyone out..i stopped him and asked him if a SCHOOL ID was an eligible document for identification..and he said quote "only if it has your date of birth"..sigh of relief..i walked out with my head up..nows the next step..which is the interview itself..i will be wearing the same thing i wore today with just a diff tie..(pink)..i thank everyone for their help..and i apologize for being so rude to everyone on this board..especially upstateupser and that steve dude (forgot his sn)...ill update if u gusy want on my part 2 interview tomm..

oh and driver helpers in NYC make only 8.00 an hour..but its from 8am to 8pm i hear..so its more hours..sonif the package handling job doesnt come ill be applying for driver helper.

another thing that i learned was the freeze period they talking about..how it will take us new hires longer to gain senority..which i have no problem with..and about the tuition thing where they send u 1500..question about that that i didnt want to ask the HR..but the tuition money they send..is it a check sent to you?..meaning u can do whatever u want with it?

For the tuition you pay for classes and then if you get satisfactory grades at the end of the semester you are reimbursed but I thought this was only for management?

It is for both mgt and hourlies--this is a big reason college kids come to work for us.

What part of "tuition" money do you not understand?

I am in college but in my center they told me it was only available for management and that was because I work in a small center, but UPS could do loans for me.

Im still confused about the mv44, if youre of age why does you parent have to sign it?

As for the tutition.....evilleace has the idea, some colleges (if they know youre gonna get reimbursed) allow you to pay for your classes at the end of semester when you can just hand over the check. Management and pt hourlies both can use it the amounts they cover and the programs are set up a little different. Pt hourly the amount of schools are a little more limited but they have quite a bit
