Currently I'm a PT Package Handler at UPS and I was thinking about taking a position offered to me at RadioShack. I currently work the sunrise shift and go to school during the afternoon. I realize all the benefits UPS has to offer, the job security, and within the company promotions. Currently I have gotten used to my job and feel as though it isn't as hard as some make it out to be but if offered a better position I said I would take it. At radio shack I would in fact be working part time also and since my semesters nearly over I could schedule to take classes at a better time next semester. I was wondering what advice anyone could share or what everyone thinks? I do in fact like my weekends off and all but RadioShack is a bit closer and my best friend's father is the manager and they live right across the street from me. I'm 18 btw just graduated high school in May. I feel as though if I stay at UPS I won't be able to be on my own until im about 30 with the salary they pay. I'm pretty sure I'll make more at Radio Shack but even without just thinking about Pay I don't plan on having a future at UPS but would it be wise to leave now after about 45 days? Also if I do is there a certain amount of time I need to let them know like a 2 week notice? Most people I know just pick up their last paycheck and don't comeback.
