quick question about boots...

I've been working preload for 3 weeks and have a few thoughts:

1. Get the steel toes. I haven't dropped anything on mine yet, but I do have a big gouge in the toe where a heavy steel-wheeled table tried to run it over. I shudder to think what my toes would look like if I had been wearing tennis shoes. If your center has metal detectors, you may want to try to find some non-metallic toes. It's a pain having to get "wanded" every time I leave work, especially as I'm hurrying to try to get to my day job on time.
2. Break them in. Wear them as much as you can BEFORE you start work. I wore mine around for a week before I started and I still had sore spots the first couple of weeks.
3. Get some good socks to go with them. The best boots in the world will still tear your feet up if you wear them with cheap cotton socks. You want cushioning and sweat-wicking properties.
